Guest Blogging

The lovely Daisie asked for birth stories over on her breastfeeding blog. She was looking for stories to inspire mothers who might have a hard time getting started, particularly after a traumatic delivery.

So I poured out my guts in a story that she was kind enough to post. It's all the words I have for awhile.

If you read it and want to see how far Rylee and I actually came in breastfeeding, check out my little piggy at about 10 months old.

Haha. Cute video.

Wow, what a tough start you had to breastfeeding....I congratulate you that you stuck with it.

I have three children. I have a boy and two girls, with my son I breastfed for the first day, possibly two, and couldn't get him to latch on through lack of support here in the UK, and so I gave up and formula fed. However second time around, I breastfed my second for 16 months and now am 10 months into breastfeeding my daughter - despite being stuck in Norway (away from her) for an additional 7 days of what was supposed to be a 4 day break with my husband! Admittedly she did have to have some formula while I was away (despit me leaving enough for 5 days - over 100oz) but as soon as we got home, she latched straight back on. It's my intention to feed her until at least her 1st birthday in August.

Anyway, nice to have met you! :o)

Aargh, me again!!

I am so sorry, just realised I forgot to say that we were stuck in Norway for the additional time due to the Ash cloud back in April that grounded all flights. :o) xx

Wow - good for you for sticking with it - you were very sick! I nursed each son about 6 months, but if you can imagine a double pump running while I sit in a locked office with people knocking on the door wanting stuff, you can see why it got old fast!
